Andrew Ryan - Headliner
Irishman Andrew Ryan is one of the most exciting talents in recent years; in demand as an act and an MC at the biggest comedy clubs across the UK & Ireland.
Andrew’s quintessentially Irish storytelling abilities and cheeky, friendly demeanour make him a natural observational stand up. He performed his debut hour show ‘Ryanopoly’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2012, receiving rave reviews (‘Illuminating debut ★★★★’ – The Metro). In 2014 he returned with his latest show ‘The Life of Ryan’ playing to packed out rooms (‘Going to be a huge star ★★★★’ – Timeout). In 2015 he was at the Edinburgh Festival with his latest show ‘Perfectly Inadequate’. Selling out his run at the Festival and having to put on extra shows.‘Hard not to enjoy’ ★★★★ Daily Record. ‘An hour of hilarious comedy’ ★★★★ Edfestmag.
Alasdair Beckett-King - Support
Alasdair won New Act of the Year (formerly Hackney Empire) in 2014 and has featured on BBC radio as a comedian and sketch writer. He’s performed stand-up across the UK, in the Glastonbury Cabaret Tent and at the Edinburgh Fringe. He knows quite a lot about 19th century magicians. Tourists often ask to have their photo taken with him, presumably impressed by this.
“Delicious writing and exceptional observations” – Corry Shaw, Chortle
Tony Cowards - Compere
Tony has been performing stand up comedy all over the country since 2004 and is originally from sleepy Suffolk but now lives in rural Wiltshire, where he sits around in his pyjamas, drinking tea, eating Jaffa cakes and playing with his cat whilst training as a world class procrastinator for the 2016 Olympics.
Tony is a quickfire joke teller (described by the List magazine as a “Pun-osaurus”) whose one-liners cover a wide spectrum of subjects, his quick wit has made him a sought after act throughout the UK.
Tony Cowards is a great act who sets the audience up perfectly, with a nice self deprecating manner
– Jo Caulfield, Radio 4 and ‘Mock the Week’
